Description
The VUD clamp (part number VUD-IP) is a plier-type aluminum grounding clamp designed specifically for drum and tote grounding and bonding. This thinner style clamp has only two stainless steel points and fits over the small lip of a drum or tote. It is available on its own or with an STS grounding cable, and it is a clamp option for the STS 300 Ground Monitoring System.

Drum and tote filling is common in chemical processing, food and beverage and other plants that handle flammable liquids. The VUD’s thinner profile is made to fit over the small lip of a drum or tote.

With an STS 300
When the VUD is connected to an STS 300, the system continuously checks the ground path through the clamp. The green light shows a proper ground, the red light shows an interrupted ground, and the dry contacts can stop the fill if the ground is lost. In the STS 300 ordering guide, the VUD is clamp code VD.

VUD or REB for drums?
Both are used on drums and totes. The VUD is a thinner plier-type clamp with two stainless steel points made to fit over the small lip of a drum or tote. The REB is a small die-cast clamp with a heavy gauge spring, also used for small containers, machinery and personnel.
