Description
The Dual Ball Connector Repair Kit (part number RK-7) restores the contact parts of the STS Dual Ball Connector, part number CP-1, also listed as the Dual Ball Plug. The kit includes 4 copper springs, 4 copper contacts and all necessary hardware. In the STS 300 installation and operating manual (PDF) replacement parts list, RK-7 is listed as the CP-1 Repair Kit.
About the Dual Ball Connector
The Dual Ball Connector is used when two-ball connections are already mounted on the object that needs grounding. The connector is made of rugged plastic, and the operator attaches it to the same point every time. It is commonly used on railcars, tanker trucks and barges, and it is one of the clamp choices for the STS 300 Ground Monitoring System.
When to use this kit
Use RK-7 when the springs or contacts inside the connector are worn, corroded or damaged. Keeping a kit on hand lets you repair the connector in the field instead of replacing the full assembly.
