What We Do
Many industries that regularly handle combustible materials, from petroleum refining to chemical processing and fueling stations, are at risk of catastrophic accidents if materials are not properly handled. The buildup of static charges generated by machinery can cause sparking, which may ignite combustible gasses or liquids with disastrous effects to personnel and equipment. Sparks caused by static electricity are a major cause of fires and explosions within the industrial sector.
Static grounding is a way of managing static discharge by connecting two or more pieces of equipment with a conductive wire, which is then earthed via a grounding rod or electrode. This effectively drains static charges away from dangerous materials.
STS has provided grounding equipment and static monitoring systems for over 40 years. Our STS 300 Series Electronic Indicator Ground Assembly monitors the entire path of the conducting wire, from the equipment clamp to the grounding rod. In the event of any interruption in the grounding process, the STS 300 will automatically halt all equipment until the ground can be re-established.
Product Features
The STS 300 System provides two interlocking dry contacts for connection to filling equipment and controls to ensure no transfer of flammable product can begin without an established ground.
